CCP need to think if they want to give out sp as compensation or any other form of compensation every time something goes wrong.
If they don't then they really shouldn't.
This old saying springs to mind.
'Give someone an inch and they'll take a yard'.

Assuming you are talking about the op.
You see it as bait, I see it as someone trying it on. |

And you say, "Then do I get a discount or lower charge?" And what if they told you, "No, sorry the charge is the same, we don't give out free things!"
Is that really how the world works? I don't think so and some of us pay real money for this game and when there's a down times expected or not the decent and honorable thing to do is compensate for that lose for those of use who PAY. If you're not paying real cash to play and earn plex in game then oh well it's not a job you get p[aid for but please thank us who do pay for keeping the company going.
One difference is that the restaurant has advertised what you get with the meal, so they should make every effort to supply it. If there is a problem they should notify you and allow you to choose an alternative if you prefer.
With CCP they don't guarantee that they can keep the servers running, because they can't as things can go wrong. You agreed to the terms and conditions otherwise you wouldn't be playing the game and there is a clause in there stating that they can't guarantee that there won't be additional downtime (or words to that effect). So as you agreed to the terms and conditions they don't owe you anything as long as they're trying to maintain the service. |

Payne Dakara wrote:As everyone here is a paying customer to CCP without a difference if he pay for a subscription or with PLEX it makes sense that CCP makes up for their own fault, when we are talking about customer and service provider relationship it really doesn't matter what is the cause for downtime when it happens Service provider is responsible. In a corporate world when your customer is a business service provider has an SLA which is written in the contract for the service, once this SLA is breached the service provider has to pay penalty.
Back in the days I was working for and ISP and each time customer had a downtime he was compensated with extension to his payment period.
If they choose to do so they have plenty of ways to compensate players without spending a dime and it is called a good sales practice. If they choose not to as they have a new extended downtime today there is no shortage of online games and some customers my choose to pay for a better service provider.
What breach of an agreement?
There hasn't been a breach by playing the game you've already agreed that there may be times when the service is not available.
'... good sales practice'?
As they don't owe you anything it would be a good will gesture on their part if they at sometime decided to compensate.
Now if there is a long disruption to the service you may expect that a company might exercise a good will gesture, but not every time some small problem arises. |
